Flower Pounding
Designed by Pattie Donham, Host of Craft Studios

Supplies:
Light Colored Napkins (100% cotton)
Fresh Flowers/Leaves
Masking Tape
Hammer
Cutting Board
Iron

Steps:
1. Pick a flower or leaf that is very fresh and has lots of moisture. Place the flower and leaves onto the fabric face down.
2. Place masking tape over the flower or leaf, covering it completely.
3. Turn the napkin over and pound with a hammer. You will immediately see the color of the flower bleeding through. When you have pounded the entire flower and leaves, remove the tape. Scrape off any residue.
4. Heat set the napkin design with a dry iron on a low temperature. The poundings cannot be immersed in water, but they are dry-cleanable. For a more permanent pounding, color copy them onto photo transfer paper and iron them onto fabric. If you do this, they are washable.
